Chris recently adopted another kitten from Neko House, she adopted momo to keep yuki company. Momo is Yuki’s sibling. At first we thought that Momo was a male tabby but found out when he went in to get neutered that he was a she! But since Momo means peach, it’s a name that can be used for either male or female whew! Momo now lives with Chris, her children and Yuki comfortably in a nice warm and loving home. Neko House and Tails of Aloha thank Chris for opening her heart and home for two wonderful kittens!

Last night our neighbor came over to our house and said, look what I found in my engine compartment! It was a lucky thing that she decided to take a look after hearing what must have been the kitten either calling for his/her mom. Not knowing where to put the new kitten, I left him/her in our carry kennel with food/water and she ended up pooping and urinating on the newspaper but also sat on her pee. So I decided to try and see if the new kitten would get along with our two younger kittens, I put him/her in and kept an eye to see what Shiro and Momo would do. They just went over to smell the kitten and pretty much went on with their business. I think there is still 2 more kittens that my neighbor saw last night so hopefully we can catch it and reunite the three together.

Everyday around 10am, my kittens get what I call a makeshift air conditioning. I remember reading about it online, how to keep your cat cool during the summer days and it works like a charm. I freeze Gatorade plastic bottles with water and freeze them, then I wrap them in a face cloth. At first when I lines them up on the bottom of their cages they didn’t go anywhere near the bottles, it took them a while to understand that if they leaned up against it , it would keep them nice and cool! Once they figured that out, they wait for me to bring them their air conditioning everyday. It was a simple method but very effective in keeping my little kittens nice and cool when it’s hot outside.

Our smaller 3 kittens are only now discovering the coolness of the bottles and as you can see are loving it now!
